Sunday ride: 9/14

Ruth and I are going on a ride sunday. Trying to keep it local to the cooler areas.

We will start from our place, and if anyone wants to join anywhere let us know.

Here's the route we will probably do:

- San Mateo start
- Alameda de las Pulgas
- Crystal Springs
- 35/92 to Canada
------Here's where the universal part of the ride probably starts------
- Canada
- Whiskey Hill
- Portola
- up OLH
- Down W84 to Pescadero Creek
- Up West Alpine
- Zoom down Skyline
- Down E84
- Back to wherever.. for us back the way we came.

Anyone care to join??

EDIT:

Our version is 64 miles and 5600 ft climbing... YMMV depending where you start.

Marco, what time are you guys looking to start? If the timing works (and the rest of family off doing their own thing), I'd love to try to catch you guys somewhere in the loop.

Pete, I live <5 min from Hillsdale Caltrain, you could meet us at our place. We could have some quick breakfast/coffee.

1st train gets to Hillsdale at 8:40. You can meet us, and we'll get rolling around 9 AM.

Alan, you can meet us too, and park at our house if you'd like.

So I want to say roll out of San Mateo around 9-ish. We'll be at Canada/92 around 9:30 - 9:40. Robert's Market by 10.

I'm out ... I'm in LA. Have a good ride.

Sounds like a 1 hour ride, right?

Woo Hoo! I got a free pass for Sunday!

Thanks for the invite to your house, but I think I'll ride from my house up Pescadero Creek Rd and meet y'all at Pescadero Creek and Alpine.

Looking forward to it...

Now that you mention coffee...I'm in! PM your address or I'll call you when I get off the train either way, I know I dropped you off but can't remember the Street name.

Pete
BTW got my first Mountain race on the 27th Mt Tam so I guess I need some training

Marco:

How about you call me when you guys roll out. I will leave at the same time. I think that'll put us at Pescadero Creek Rd and Alpine around the same time.

Man what a great ride!

Perfect wether, great route, and we felt great.

65 miles (forgot the avg speed).

Ruth and I were on a mission today, since we did so poorly on the last couple rides.

Highlights:
- We charged up OLH in a personal best (for the tandem) of 27:28!
- Bombed down 35/W84
- Did West Alpine in around an hour or so, I forgot to record the start time.
- Flew through NB Skyline and down 84
- Ran into Alex at Roberts Market (he was leaving in his car) Small world, eh?

We were hammering since Ruth had to meet with a study group after the ride. I tried my hardest to get her hom on time

Man! OLH insane time!....I think I would have been a bedraggled piece of chum after that ride.
Glad you guys had a great ride...You deserve it!

Yeah I was happy about OLH. We were just in a mode.

I also pulled a 21:28 on my single a couple weeks ago.

Both preceding climbs up West Alpine.

Hey Marco, I saw you and Ruth hammering down Canada on your way back, I was headed the other way in the new NorCal kit.

You guys were going too fast for me to bother to turn around and catch you to say hi.

Haha, we were only trying to hammer on the way back, the speedo indicated otherwise.

However, the effort must have been good, since I didn't even see you in the new kit
