FYI: Bolinas-Fairfax Road Closure 11/10/08 through 1/10/09

From the Marin County Bike Coalition:

"Beginning on November 10th, the County will be partially closing Fairfax-Bolinas Road. The County is repairing three slide areas from the 2005/2006 storms at mileposts 2.26, 5.08 and 8.46. Due to the limited road width at milepost 8.46, the road is required to be closed during construction. The expected dates of the closure are 11/10/08 to 1/30/09. These dates may vary depending on how the construction proceeds and if there are weather delays. The road will be closed to all through traffic including pedestrians and cyclists from just west of the Cataract Trail Head milepost 8.13 to Ridgecrest Blvd. The construction at the other two locations will require a lane closure and traffic control."

The Cataract Trail Head is just west of Alpine Dam.

Descending panoramic (I think) sucked too like a month ago when Ruth & I rode with Ramon. It was all gravel. also the end of the 7 sisters. Bah.

It's been like that for a couple months now it seems. I took it pretty slow, heck with the cars following.

yeah, like what he said.

I wonder if you can still ride from Hwy 1 to Bolinas Ridge? It sounds like all to work will be way east of there.
