How about a category for "Inspiring" (I think that could be separate from "serious"). I think it'd also be good to hyperlink the thread that they're recommending to allow us to enjoy those threads without relying on the fearsome BF search engine.

Meanwhile, I'm getting my thinking cap on.

OK, need to add some others (with one exception)

Inspiring/Serious : + 1 on Pete's ALC report

Serious/Inspiring : Ramon's Death Ride report

Romantic: tough category, but gotto mention Paula's recent nuptuals (OK not NorCal, but best I could do)

Funny: too many to mention, mostly individual posts here and there, but Curtis/Pete's butterfly incident at the Davis Double was pretty bizarre

Photo: Not mine, but I still love this shot on Diablo

OK this is a little egotistic but here's the story. My blog was getting a lot of hits from Italy so a few months ago I clicked on the "came from" link in my site counter and found this Italian version of Bike Forums called "Bici da Corsa". Now I understand a little Italian and had a couple semesters of it in college 30 years ago so I read through it and found they were coming from a thread on Klein road bikes and they frequently linked to my History of Klein Road Bikes page LINK as a reference (I also get some from the links in Curtis's and Pete's blogs once in a while).

So I join BDC and say in really crappy Italian that I appreciate them and would enjoy hearing their stories
They're sort of a Klein user's group and they can't believe the famous Diablo Scott has joined their ranks and they welcomed me and asked me questions and last week I spoke with one of them on Skype who's from Venice but works as a Harbor Master in Ravenna (he was at work and would sometimes have to stop the conversation to direct tugboats and stuff in Italian) and I was Google Earthing Ravenna Harbor while we were talking. How cool is that?

https://www.bdc-forum.it/showthread.php?t=57530

Interestingly, he pronounced Klein in the Italian way which sounds more like "Klane" and he also talked about how he didn't like "carbon feeber", but he spoke excellent English and was tolerant (didn't laugh) of my feeble attempts at Italian.

Here are my votes:
1. Inspiring

2. Serious:

3. Funny:

4. Romantic

5. Any-thread from any forum in the world: A hilarious, beer-loving Korean kid rides a 49cc scooter with a top speed of 39 mph around the US. Tons of pictures and stories of the people he met and the places he saw along the way. (https://totalruckus.com/phpBB2/viewto...er=asc&start=0)

6. Photo:

One of my favorite items of the year was the article about the new road being built up Mt. Diablo- East Gate, I think. I was very excited to read about it! Scott, was that you?

PS- Hey Pete, guess what I got for Christmas???

Sorry - you need to credit Curtis (IIRC?). I think that AlainP took that photo of Curtis and Dan's epic race up the summit, and then Curtis worked his magic.

Should have made a "weird" category because that was the weirdest thing I've ever experienced by far while pedaling a bicycle... I still think they were locusts with butterfly wings because on a whole that day was biblical (maybe I mean apocalyptic?).
