I've had a great Summer! Today I went to the beach.:D

Getting over this horrible cold and shedding some stress, I figured it was time to take some time off and spend the afternoon sunning and biking...OK just biking with intermittent picture taking. The surfers far out numbered the bikers today at least in my neck of the woods.

We'll all be so spoiled with this weather and Godsmacked when the cold weather comes back. What'd everyone do this summer? Any hookie with Golf, Tennis, Picnics this week?;)

This scene reminds me of Janis Joplin's cosmic blues.

Did the long Paradise loop today. It was the greatest day ever, didn't even get passed by one car on the whole loop. Tiburon was amazing, just a warm, sunny, lazy day there. Ped traffic on the bridge was incredibly little.

I took off about 3:40 for a longish ride, 41 miles from San Bruno to Roberts Market and back. On the way, I caught up to a cyclist also riding from San Bruno but heading home to Mountain View. Turns out he's a Marine Corp Colonel and Commanding Officer at the Regimental HQ in San Bruno who has been racing for 2 years. I bid him farewell at Roberts Market and headed back bt the south gate to Sawyer Camp Trail was closed and it was getting dark.

I decided to head down Crystal Springs to get to lighted streets before it got completely dark. I turned up North San Mateo Dr. which turned into California Dr. and took me past Summit Bicycles. I stopped in there to get at least a rear blinky since California Dr. has some pretty dark spots. In the shop I met someone riding a cool looking electric powered mountain bike who also happened to be a technician for San Bruno Cable. He's a pretty cool character.

The ride from Summit back to San Bruno was a straight shot but it was completely dark when I got back. I need to remember to bring lights next time but I'm glad I got in a longer ride at a decently fast pace thanks to Colonel Cat Three.

Nice pix Pete!
It looks like my team picked a good week for our ride down the coast to Solvang.
We start tomorrow with a ride from San Jose to Big Sur. :D

I got up San Bruno Mtn at lunchtime - the weather was unbelievable. It was actually WARM, and I was just wearing a short sleeve jersey and bibshorts.

Still, I'm getting over an annoying cold, so my meagre PB was not at risk.

Pete, I am jealous. Every one of those pictures is fantastic!

I was in LA today, and it was approximately a hundred and ten degrees. My time was totally being wasted, and I was really wishing that I'd thrown the folding bike in the back of the car before I left*.

WTF, Mother Nature?

(* And gone to the Bay Area instead of dumb ol' LA)

I may be exaggerating the temperature a bit, but it was at least 80. In January. *boggle*

Nice photos, Pete!
I took my ride pretty early Tuesday, before it warmed up, so I was in long sleeves and tights.

I left work too late to get in a decent ride. I went for a run instead. It was nice to not be all bundled up.

I think both Mother Nature, and my body are confused: I've been having sneezing fits that are reminiscent of allergies in Spring. It's worth it, though, I'll take this weather any day of the year. :thumb:

+1 my allergies kicked up big time Monday evening/Tuesday morning.

Oh man! I started in Sausalito and headed up HWY 1 to Point Reyes Station. Came up Panaramic HWY on the way back. Amazing ride as always.... quite possibly my favorite ride in the bay. 65 miles will HELLA climbing at the very beginning and at the very end.

Lots of traffic for some reason, but I couldn't have asked for a better day.

silentben 01-14-09 09:46 PM

Those are some of my favorite roads :thumb: Wish I could have been out there too.

Pete, amazing pics as always!

DUDE! I practically sprayed my laptop with my beverage.

Superb, Norcal 09 Jersey perhaps?

After the earthquake, I used to ride on the Embarcadero Freeway. It was closed to traffic due to earthquake damage, so I had it all to myself! :D
