I subscribe to the FDA recall alerts and they have been recalling dozens of products made with anything to do with peanuts from Peanut Corporation of America (PCA).

Last time I ordered some stuff from REI, they threw a peanut-something Clif bar into the box. I'll be throwing that right away.

Dang!

I finished all the Crunchy PB bars from the Costco variety pack. Think I can send the chocolate chip back for a new box?

Read your ingredient section. I think this is on all flavors of Clif Bar. I sent an e-mail but they haven't got back to me yet.

"May Contain Traces Of Dairy, Peanuts, And Other Tree Nuts."

Oops ... sorry. I didn't know there was a recall section on the forum. I figured that a large percentage of riders (myself included) may be affected by this (being one who hates powerbar). I guess it's time to look at them again.

Two thirds of my Costco case pulled. The website says to throw away the bars and keep the wrappers with the date code. They don't even say how to get new ones, just to contact them by phone or e-mail.

I'm expecting coupons in the mail or something.

Just got an auto-call from Costco because they knew I bought Cliff Bars in the affected time range. I checked last night and the bars I have were made after the recalled batch. So, I just ate a bunch of could-be-poison Cliff Bars over the past few weeks.

So far so good!

"A Message to Our Consumers:
Our Jif® peanut butter brand and peanut butter products are safe for consumption.

The J. M. Smucker Company does not purchase peanuts or any ingredients from Peanut Corporation of America.

We are confident that our comprehensive product safety and quality assurance policies and procedures, including testing for the presence of Salmonella, ensure the safety of all of our products."

I'm going to celebrate the good news with a minimum 4 decker Simply Jif PB and Jelly sandwich when I get home.

No biggie. That section is kinda new. I just wanted a place where all recalls can be in one place just in case someone picks up a bike and wants to check on it. That way they don't have to search (since the search is not very dependable). Plus with something like this we like it to be posted not only there but where ever it needs to be.

Jif probably doesn't contain any actual peanuts anyway.
