Looks like I can add Fridays to my riding days.

Work is forcing 4-day work weeks for various staff including myself.

Pay cut sucks ... but 3-day weekend is good

Overall, still sucks... but better than getting laid off.

That sucks. I just barely avoided being 80% time last month.

Hopefully they will rescind yours once things start looking up?

Sucks. But as you say, more miles! A teammate works for CalPERS and was furloughed every other Friday during Jan/Feb. He got really fit with big miles on those days.

Actually, I have a fair bit of chargeable work, but it's long term. Good in that it sustains my employment, but bad in that it's not that urgent kind of work... so the 32 hr week just makes sense. However, when intermediate deadlines arise I can put in 40-hr weeks as deemed necessary.

I hope you can make the new situation work out. Personally I would be pretty excited to only work 4 days a week even with the pay cut.

Yeah, the furloughs have really help with my double century training. The paycut sucks but heavy mileage early in the season is good.

If it's any consolation to you, Marco, I got a pay cut but still have to work a full week. I'm jealous.

D'oh, that's crappy/awesome.

Enjoy your free time before they reel you back in!

Ooooo.. I get a cool $82/week from EDD for my pay cut. That actually helps a little.

Sorry to hear that Marco. Paycuts are never good living round here.

I have to confess, I also thought about this:

It'll be a good way to make lemonade out of an excess of lemons.

OTH, he may ride too much and get overtrained.
(I hope you don't though, we need someone to pull the paceline.)

Nah, even if I doubled the amount i ride, it wouldn't be too much. I'm such a weekend warrior. Crazy weekend rides, nothing during the week. Not the best way to get strong. I need to get some more riding days in.

You have that Billy Goat night ride during the week.

Yikes. Sorry to hear that. Mixed blessing, I guess. If you get a penny for every ft you climb...
