Primavera roll call

Well next weekend, this'll be my first century, so who else is in?

I'm planning on starting pretty early - don't have a riding partner, and don't mind riding solo but I'd be delighted to chit-chat with anyone else planning an early start.

BTW - I just checked out the ride flyer. It seemed to imply that lunch is during the ride, rather than at the end. That sounds odd - can anyone please 'splain?

I'm working it. I'll likely be at the Winery Rest Stop or doing SAG.

Beaker I am in on the Primavera.
It would be cool to ride together. I like early starts.
PM me with your contact info if you want to set something up.

Foxy's Fall Century in Davis has a pretty hearty lunch at about mile 50 something. Not all Centuries do this but I kind of liked it at Foxy's. I had a turkey sandwich with a real coke, fresh fruit and cookies. The time off the bike let the legs loosen up nicely and the calories kicked in real strong down the home stretch. I skipped the last rest stop and felt just fine.

I thought it was just a rest stop and not a lunch stop. I guess that explains why the volunteer list is large.

Is there day of ride registration available? I haven't checked the web site, and realized I didn't sign up for any century this month.

Come on out. If there's a problem, tell them that Dave Ransom said to come out and sign up in the morning.
I'll be at the Livermore Water Stop on Greenville Rd, before you start the climb up Altamont. I'm the ugly, old fart. There is a lunch at the Garre Winery after you come down from Altamont and head back into Livermore. You can make cold cut sandwiches, and someone usually makes soup. Fruit, and some cold veggies too, I believe. The soup seems to hit the spot with a lot of riders. I hope they have some again this year for you guys.
There's also a post ride meal at Logan High School. The main entree is usually lasagna, and we get vegetarian lasagna for those that desire it. Don't forget to ask if you want it.

Print this form out and bring it with you on Sunday morning. I show up early at the high school, too. I'll be the ugly, old fart there, too.

I forgot to mention; They have cameras at the intersection on Alvarado-Niles and H St, where you turn to go into the school parking lot. A rolling right turn on red costs $900 at that intersection. Make sure you stop completely.

Wow - there may be more BF'rs working than riding this! I'll definitely say Hi at the winery - will you have any BF specific handouts - HTFU stickers perhaps?

I'm planning on riding with Dan close to the opening bell - anyone else??

that's an expensive right turn. I'm sure they could make a mint on the day of the ride if they chose.

What time? I usually like to start a century around 7 am, but I do need to do a same day registration thing.

I was thinking of starting no later than 7, but perhaps we can co-ordinate? I guess that same-day registration makes it a bit tougher to predict, but it'd be good to try and meet up. If you PM me your contact info Ron I'll try to catch you.

I think registration opens at 6:30. If you folks are there when the doors open, you should do well.

I'm suddenly interested in doing this ride too. Would have to do same-day reg, I haven't been paying attention and missed the deadline this time. I'll try to get there as close to the start as possible, if I go I mean. Will have to confirm plans for this next weekend.

If I commit, I could meet with some of you other folks at the start.

Good to hear about the same day registration. I was thinking of doing this ride, but got sidetracked last week and missed the 4/9/09 deadline.

Thanks for posting, and thanks for the warning. I didn't register in time, so I figured I was SOL. Good to know I can still get in!

Ooh, I just noticed that the windmills, in Livermore, are part of the route. I've been wanting to see them, in person, ever since I missed that BF ride.

I'm printing-out the registration form now...

Great Idea! I could have some lattes at the ready for the riders that need the caffeine boost.
