6:25 am in Antioch, home of annoying wind, and it's nice now. Must be on the way....

Beaker 04-14-09 07:38 AM

Hey, everyone will get to share that "top of Diablo" feeling today.

msincredible 04-14-09 07:47 AM

It was bad last night, my car was being blown all over 280.

SesameCrunch 04-14-09 07:58 AM

It's blowing good here on the coast! Good day for spinning class....

kster 04-14-09 08:45 AM

It was a windy ride to Sunnyvale this morning.

taxi777 04-14-09 08:55 AM

heading out for a morning work out along the coast in a bit...I'll let you know if I run into Dorothy and Toto...seeing how I'm in San Francisco, there's a very good chance I may!

mellum76 04-14-09 09:52 AM

Did my usual morning workout today and it was brutal - resistance training at its best.

arexjay 04-14-09 04:08 PM

Wow, they weren't kidding. Intense ride today.

uspspro 04-14-09 04:37 PM

seriously. I was in my like 52x15 or something like that on my morning commute like nothing... turned the corner, and whoa a wall of wind. I had to downshift to the 23 cog and was struggling with that,

pelikan 04-14-09 04:41 PM

I can't wait for Track Fights tonight!

(because I will be spectating not racing)

uspspro 04-14-09 04:51 PM

oh yeah.. damn

Can't make it... again.

ahpook 04-14-09 05:49 PM

caught a ride in this morning (to windward)

excited to ride home (to leeward).

looks like good wx for the weekend though, for those of you not going to hawaii (sorry couldn't resist)

ECMWF AND GFS BUILD A FAIRLY STRONG RIDGE OVER THE WEEKEND AND INTO
EARLY NEXT WEEK INDICATING ABOVE NORMAL TEMPS...LIGHT WINDS AND
MINIMAL LOW CLOUDS AND FOG. I.E NICE SPRING WEATHER.

Tapeworm21 04-14-09 06:08 PM

I was riding in this mess in Marin today. Good god was it bad. Fairfax Bolinas road has debris EVERYWHERE so be careful if you're taking this road soon.

Red Rider 04-14-09 06:31 PM

It's been howling in Vacaville/Fairfield all day and now we're getting rain on top of that. Blech.

The weekend, however, looks promising.

I was in Oakland all day, and coming home @5:30 southbound on the 680 was interesting. On the right was Alamo/Danville under a clear blue cloudless sky, and on the left was a big bank of dark gray cloud completely obscuring Diablo from base to summit.

taxi777 04-14-09 09:15 PM

Yes..a first, riding down hill and going backwards. It was pretty scary!

Great photos! I was watching the white caps on the bay from my office in SSF, bruised my hip just trying to exit a door the wind was so strong. Decided on a rollers workout at 5 Rings Cycling Center and we lost power - that was speciial . . . .

How was the ride home?

A friend and I rode Mt. Hamilton this morning. The wind had really picked up when we started back down, and neither of us was ready for those 40 degree gusts!

mtnwalker 04-14-09 10:55 PM

I was almost blown to the side fence of a highway 101 overpass pedestrian walkway on my way home this afternoon. I went real slow and it was still scary. I really tought I was going to eat chicken wire.

Once the cloud cleared, a dusting of snow/hail could be seen on top of Diablo.

Wow! That ocean is fierce! Great pic!

msincredible 04-15-09 08:11 AM

It was pretty miserable riding the Duc home from Sunnyvale last night. Trees were throwing branches at me left and right (got hit by a few smaller ones), and Pescadero Creek Rd was absolutely covered in branches, I had to play hopscotch through some corners.

Then I got home to a power outage, only to discover that the outlet on our new emergency generator doesn't match the plug from the transfer switch. Doh! Luckily there was still enough daylight to walk the dogs, start a fire, and light some candles.
