Jesus. On a fixed gear? Pete, you sir.... are an animal. Don't let anyone tell you different. Have fun though, I hear nothing but awesome things about that ride.

Hi Pete: Here's wishing you the best. May you have no mechanicals, or physical problems, or mental ones, either. In other words, have a perfect ride!

Don't mince words
+1000 to the previous posts. You'll be the talk of the ride, of that I have no doubt!
I hope it's safe and fun and full of tailwinds and awesome camaraderie.

Does everyone follow the same route? I saw signs on skyline in Burlingame today ("aids/lifecycle, single file please" or something like that). I'm on duty this weekend and usually check on the water reservoirs up there around 7am so I'll keep an eye out for you Pete.
Once again, have an safe trip and thanks for putting in the effort for the cause.

I saw Pete at about 8am this morning and he was looking good, if a little damp. He stopped for a second and then hit the road again. I saw a few other fixed gear riders later on (Pete was the first) and a few tandems, a recumbent, lots of funny jerseys or accessories, and lots of body shapes you'd never expect to see on a 500+ mile ride. But everyone seemed to be having a blast.
