La Honda/Pescadero Cycling

This ride was a couple months ago, but it was a great loop. Started in La Honda, headed out on 84 to San Gregorio, south along Stage Road to Pescadero then back inland along Pescadero Creek Rd before returning to La Honda. You guys have some great roads up there. A couple of pictures from the ride:

Full ride report here. Seriously, that area is too scenic.

Glad you enjoyed the roads up here. I've ridden in that area lot but still never checked out Redwood Dr or Reflection Lake.

All the roads between Pescadero and La Honda are geat cycling roads (except that I like going down Hwy 84 much better than up). Don't miss Alpine Road, which climbs up to Skyline from Pescadero Road.

Yeah, Stage Road is sweet. The ride from Woodside to Pescadero and back will never get old for me. It's just perfect.

It looks like peacock perched behind and to the right of the skeleton.

Another good thing about those roads is: very few cars! Well, except 84, which is OK if you're descending.

Yep, Alpine is an evil road. I did that as part of a ride where I climbed King's Mountain, went over Stage Road, Over Pescadero Creek and up Alpine West. That is still the most climbing I have done in a day, but I did it when I was in much worse shape.

Stage Road is all kinds of awesome. Love the sculpture with the gun. Got a picture of it myself. Everything about that ride was beautiful. I love going to the end of Tunitas Creek and just seeing the ocean there (minus the power lines).

I need to do this ride again to better defeat it.

Did you take Kings down Skyline, down OLH then back up OLH and down it again?

Trying to figure that elevation graph.

I did not figure out how to post html code (route map) here. Here is the route: La Honda -> up W Alpine -> down Page Mill -> up Page Mill -> down W Alpine -> up Haskins Grade -> Pescadero -> Stage Rd -> up Tunitas ("Hi, Sequoia Century riders!") -> down Kings -> up Kings -> down 84 -> up OLH -> down W. OLH -> La Honda.

Do you have a route map (mapmyride, bikely, etc) of this one that you could link to? I suppose I could also map it myself, but I'd rather be lazy if you've already done it That profile looks sweet!

I can't wait to get up to the area and ride the hills some more. Searching for a new job at the moment and seriously looking at the Bay Area..partially because the riding seems so awesome. Of course, I'll miss some of the LA riding:

Click on the elevation graph and it will take you to the ride details. You can download the .gpx file there. Let me know if you need more information on the route.

I actually really like Alpine now.
