Tunnel road detour during the day.

Just a heads up. Tunnel is rocking a sweet detour right now up tunnel if you hit it during the day. It's 100x better than the old detour. The one today takes you up Hiller..... good god. My Garmin was seeing 24% grade, a new personal high. They have a shuttle that takes you to the top if you need to.

I've only done Hiller once, probably the reverse way to the detour you're describing - it's pretty steep either way, but descending that long slope was insane and not pleasant. I vaguely recall a red blur where I thought there might have been a stop sign at the bottom.

Edit: here's one I made earlier - going the opposite way, I think

I stopped 3/4 of the way up Hiller. So did my buddy who is way more fit than me.

**** that hill.

Do you know how long the detour will last? That's a bummer, I ride Broadway/Tunnel/Grizzly and down Euclid 2-3x a week before work...

It is closed from the base of tunnel up about ~1 mile.

The detour is hillier -> ch**ing cross (can't remember the name), and then that puts you back on tunnel. Fine going down....killer going up

my 39x25 and recently banged up knee beg to differ.

I did feel 'cleansed' upon coasting back onto tunnel

next time you'll know what's coming. Finish the last 1/4. Don't clip out. It is rewarding, trust me.
