Palo Alto to Saratoga Gap

I will be on Stanford campus next wk for a few days, on my free day, I would like to ride up to Redwood Gulch to Saratoga Gap, Skyline, San Gregorio and back by Tunitas Creek (I did the Old La Honda-San Gregorio-Tunitas Loop last time I was there)

What is the best way to get from the campus to Foothill Blvd and 280 which looks like the start of the climb up to Stevens Creek/Redwood Gulch/Saratoga Gap

Thank you.

Oddly enough, straight shot on Foothill Expy, all the way, then right on Stevens Creek, L on Redwood Gulch. Easy, non-complicated route.

What conference are you with? I work with Student Housing...

I'm planning to ride Friday the 3rd, but also possibly something on Tuesday or Wednesday. Let me know what you're thinking, maybe we could make a ride of it.

Maybe it is more complicated than you think, especially for first timers trying to follow the street signs. Do NOT turn right on Stevens Creek.

From Stanford, go south on Foothill Expressway, then straight on Foothill Blvd., then straight on Stevens Canyon Road past the reservoirs (and the ghost bike). When you get to the intersection of Stevens Canyon Rd. and Mt. Eden Rd., turn right to stay on Stevens Canyon Rd. Stevens Canyon Rd. gets narrower and climbs slightly along the creek. At the first stop sign, turn left on Redwood Gulch, which is very steep for the first half mile or so.
