Smoke in Santa Cruz?

How bad is it? I'm thinking about doing a loop through Santa Cruz tomorrow (starting in Redwood City). I'd come down Rt 1 from Pescadero and climb up to Skyline on Mountain Charlie. Bad idea?

My brother didn't ride on Friday due to the smoke. Not sure how it is now, though.

I was out on Bear Creek and Hwy 236 last Friday and the air was fine. Not even a trace of smoke smell. But I could see it hanging in the air a bit farther south where you'd be going.
