These two are my favorites, from what I can get here at work. The first is my girlfriend and I at the top of Carson Pass (note, I made it before the rain!) The second is the Cal/Nevada border. Dunno if the picture is good, but I still remember the feeling of riding back to Minden after finishing the Deathride. So calm, peaceful and fast after the crowds at the ride. I was racing the rain back and beat it by 5-10 minutes.
The doubles may have been harder, but cruising home after the DR and feeling good was when I allowed myself to be proud of what I'd accomplished in the first year of riding.

Another one in Sagebum's backyard. Don't you just hate crowded roads? Have to watch for oncoming traffic.

Continuing the theme, Robocheme took this shot of Marin Ave
Just before I went through ridiculous amounts of suffering to ride my bicycle up it with the gang
Smiling through the wind and rain with gpelpel and Ygduf
and a better day with friends atop Mt Diablo
Come to think of it, all of these pictures were taken by RoboCheme (except for the last, as he's in it). I vote Cliff for official BF East Bay photographer in 2010

Compared to the descent we'd just completed down Coleman Valley, that shot by the sea was positively delightful.

Well this was the year Midland (the OP of this thread) bought a road bike to compliment literally a lifetime of BMX riding.
He has been a faithful friend for 25 years and I really wanted him as a ride buddy.
I knew he had mad bike handling prowess and power from hundreds of thousands of hours of all aspects of BMX - racing, dirt jumping and trick riding in skate parks. I had nudged him for a year to try his skills on a a road bike.
For God's sake he is 5'6" and weighs 138, a born roadie if ever there was one.
In February he took the plunge with a Craigslist Klein and in the last 10 months of 2009 he logged 3000 miles, 2 Centuries, umpteen metrics, and several successful assaults on Mt Diablo.
So Midland, how ya likin' that road bike?
