Interest in a Meet and Greet ride?

I don't think we've done one of these in quite a while, so it's maybe time again. What do you think? An easyish ride with lunch? Maybe in the Davis or Winters area? I'll be happy to organize one here, but it's a good ride for NorCal West folks to come out to the Sac area.

Any volunteers? Comments?

Depends on the kind of ride, I guess. You know I'm down for a slow poke. I'm free after this Saturday. Going to take a break from school a while so I can focus on getting back to good health. A meet and greet is a good kick off for my plans.

Sac, Davis, Winters, East Bay, even South Bay if necessary - will travel for a good time.

My vote would be East Bay since crossing the bridge is worth 30-40 miles in non-bridge-crossing driving.

I'm happy to organize one here in the Sac area as I know the area. But if you prefer Winters, Vacaville, Bay Area, etc. then someone else should take up the reins.

Any volunteers? If not, I'll organize one in the Sac area.

oo, I would be done for a meet and greet. Could it be on a weekend? Work + School takes up my weekday pretty fast.

A weekend is a must as far as I'm concerned.

I am not one who can lead a ride but I can volunteer my house for a BBQ afterwards if we decide to do a ride near Benicia. We could do the Benicia, Vallejo, Crockett, Martinez loop and ride across the two bridges for a total of about 30 miles, I think. I'll be riding sweep with roguedog - don't even know if I can make it up Cummings Skyway anymore.

I'm open to a Sac ride though but not in the summer. I melt.

BBM, you know the area, can you lead the ride near here? I am serious about a BBQ. I've got a monster six burner grill that I haven't fired up in a year.

I suppose - but I ain't exactly greased lightning on a bike, either. Additionally, while I kow where the bridges are (), I'm not familiar with how to connect the two on a route, as I seldom ride in the Vallejo/Benecia area.

Rich and I have been talking about resuming the "slowpoke" series - maybe we can kill two birds with one stone.

I can print up route sheets but it would be good if someone has ridden the whole thing before leading a ride. YES on the slowpoke!!!

All you need to do to lead a ride is have the cue sheets, lay out some ground rules regarding "no drop", sweep, regrouping, etc. And organize the start place and time. You don't have to be in front.

FWIW, I prefer Sundays...

Make it on a Sunday and I am more apt to be able to make the ride. Especially if the family and I go up to my in-law's in Fairfield!

I don't think I've been on a BF ride in over a year! Doh!

depending on the weekend, i'm down w/ sun. i have the route sheet for the jelly belly ride. flattish and some rollers but that's it. approx 48 miles. route sheet starts in benecia. only offering if no has route for the one suggested by cantdrv55

actually, duh, here's the route for you all to consider (and so you're not dependent upon me): https://www.valleyspokesmen.org/cinde...des/vs0306.htm

I've done that ride with the valleyspokesmen many years ago. It is flat but the wind will provide the challenge. I'm down for this one too and Sundays are good.

If there's enough interest in a Davis/Winters area ride, I'd be willing to organize. It could be one of the two previous Davis routes, a modified shorter/longer version of those, or something new leaving from Davis or Winters.

Sounds like someone just needs to pick a date and make it happen.

Any progress on this? It's warm enough to do it! If ya'll want to come out here (East of Sac, Folsom area), I'll be happy to put it together.
