NorCal, Sunday 5/30. Diablo!

We've secured a sitter and my wife wants to climb Diablo again (as do I). So we're gonna. I think we're doing South Gate. Then maybe descend to N Gate and back to the junction and return to the car. Meeting at 8:45 in Danville at the corner of Danville and El Cerro. Lunch to follow the ride. If I remember correctly, there's a pretty good pizza joint in Danville.

Anyone interested?

I'm going to be on the mountain tomorrow. Would love to meet up and ride with a group, I'll have to check the schedule and see if I can make it on the 30th.

Haven't done this ride in almost a year, time for some redemption! Would be cool to see some bay area folks there too.

Joel, we'd join you, but have previous commitments. Kind of a bummer as we've enjoyed riding with you before. Enjoy the mountain. Looks like you'll have the weather for it.

Bummer Curtis. We'll have to get together again this summer for a ride. Enjoy your day!

Joel,

If you don't minde me asking. How long does it take you from southgate to the junction? I kind of wanted to go but I just don't want to hold you guys back or wait for me at the junction.

I dunno. Haven't timed myself to the junction. Last time I timed it, 1:12 to the top.

But if I stay back with my wife, probably closer to 1:45 to the top. Come along and join us.

This will be a "climb at your own pace" ride. So no worries on holding anyone back, we're all just going to have a good time.

Joel, you plan your best rides on the rare weekend days I have to work... Bummer! Diablo is still #1 on my biking to-do list. Someday! Someday! Enjoy the great weather. I'll be bike commuting. One of the last times I ride my old Trek (to be continued in the "Bikes of NorCal" thread soon).

OOOOo a new bike! Fun. Since my Colnago bit the big one today in an impact with a motor vehicle, I'm going to be bike shopping when the ins check arrives (assuming I can get that squared away).

I'm ok. But I don't think it's a good idea to post too much here until I'm worked out with the insurance.

Who is in for this ride? I've never attempted to climb Diablo before and not sure what to expect.

Right now, there are 7 or 8 of us. Only me and Shiz from here. Come along. It'll be a climb at your own pace type ride. I'll be wearing a kit from Folsom Bikes.
