Saturday Ride 7/31 (Pleasanton Start)

Start time around 9 am: here.
I was planning on riding out and pre-riding Patterson Pass RR loop once or twice.

Are you riding out from Santa Clara, or are you going to drive to the 9am start?

Really tempted, but not sure. Looks like 50 miles if you just go out to the course, do one lap and then head back to the meet up. Ok, that is not a problem but dang it is my 13th wedding anniversary. Actually Monday is the anniversary but I have a rest stop captains meeting in Marin for the Marin Century/Double Century that night.
(a volunteer commitment for the California Triple Crown Gold Thousand Mile Club jersey I covet) So, I told my wife we would celebrate on Saturday night. I really should plan something with the kids too and make a day of it on Saturday. I don't want my wonderful wife to feel like our anniversary is just something I shoe horn in between cycling events.

This may be TMI but I want you to know I appreciate you posting this on Bike Forums. The number of ride meet up posts here seems to have fallen way off lately. I would like to make this one, but I probably cant. But really, thanks for the invite.

Just for grins, here is the route of the course I drew up on Ride With GPS

the course looks super ugly, dry and dusty. Why else would you be tempted if not for recon?

Well now I have a number to go with "**** load of climbing", close to 7k next weekend.
Well if you change your mind let me know. I might do loop and a half to practice descending because I suck so much.

+1. Yeah, I've been working not a mile from the meet-up for the last two years with most weekends free, and this summer I'm back on the east coast.

Hope you all have a great ride!

the east side of patterson pass is just about as hard as i remember it. was nice meeting you alex. will put it in my repertoire of rides though. amazing how much easier the really hard stuff is when you are not alone.

Thanks for coming, it was a great ride. Always fun to have company instead of just Ipod and mumbling to myself. lol
