Sacramento area rides..

I have to goto Sacramento on Saturday for a get together.. It's supposed to be nice out so I'm bringing my bike. My hotel is in Elk Grove? (That sound right? haha)

What are some good routes near there?

Can't help you with the Elk Grove area, but if you're around Sunday morning, I'm planning a little 45 mile ride to hit a couple of hills in the El Dorado Hills area. Let me know if you'd like to come. Rolling at 9am from my house. Should be back in the vicinity of lunch time.

Solo? Small group? Hammerfest?

The weekly hammerfest leaves from the alley behind City Bike Works (24th and K in Midtown) at 10am. Will probably be a big turnout this Saturday.

If you want a mellow solo ride, head west from Elk Grove over to Hood and wander around the Delta. Low traffic, decent roads, flat as a pancake.

Just a heads up, as far as the Sac area weather forecaster are reporting we are supposed to have a solid amount of rain clear from tomorrow (friday) through tuesday or wednesday. I’m not recommending not riding, just giving you a heads up.
