Norcal Titanium Builders?

I believe Sycip makes a Ti frame and so does Steve Potts, but are there other Ti builders in NorCal?

I am currently saving for a custom Eriksen. I made a separate bank account that will top out at $5,000 by the time I'm 25 (and presumably done growing). Yeah, you could say I'm a fan.

However, I don't really think there are many NorCal ti frame builders. I mean, I know of a bunch of steel builders in the bay area like Mikkelsen (never seeing my business again), Rock Lobster, Sycip, Soulcraft, 4130, etc.

Ritchey has a ti break-away frame but I think they are built in Asia.

This guy is located in San Francisco. I was considering getting a Ti frame faced there.

I talked to Ericksen at NAHBS ... great guy, fabulous bikes, incredible craftsmanship. You cannot go wrong with one of his frames ... it would be nice if there was someone close in NorCal, but there are great options for a Ti frame outside of this area ...

I remember hearing that one of the wrenches at a shop here in Sac is building Ti frames. Bicycle Chef I think is the name of the shop. You'd have to call and ask.

I'm pretty sure that Steve has Lynsky do his Ti builds. At least, that was the case when I asked a few years back.

Talk to Jim Kish -- https://kishbike.com/ . He's in quasi-Norcal (San Luis Obispo) but he's a fantastic Ti builder. In fact he teaches welding at UBI and often does the rear triangle (the hard part) of Ti frames for other builders like Curtis Ingliss.

Full disclosure -- I have a road bike from him and it's the sweetest thing I've ever ridden. Pics at: https://gallery.me.com/eric.sorenson#...lack&view=grid

Stopped by Jim Kish's booth at the NAHBS a few years back when it was in town; his welds are exquisite. Whatever he charges for a frame, pay it, it's worth it.

Whitworth Cycles is the Ti builder in Sac. Whit is a good guy and a great builder. All of Rex's Ti stuff is through Lynsky. Steve only works with steel. Here is Whitworth's web site.

Everyone knows that NAHMBS will be in Sac next year right?
