ATOC Plans
So what's everyone's ATOC plans? With it starting in Tahoe, and coming west to San Jose, before heading south, it should be exciting. I don't know much of the area east of Sacramento. Maybe I'll look for all the KOM's. Here are the ones I am targeting:
San Jose: Sierra Road
Paso Robles: Santa Rosa Creek Road
Solvang: Ballard Canyon (okay, so that's the TT, but it should be exciting, still)
Baldy ... need I say more? Hill top finish at the ski lifts!
I guess Donner Pass would be interesting (stage 2), but the rest of it is all downhill. Any other noteable viewing spots along the tour?

My little boy is home so I can't travel much:-( But I want to piggy-back reconning Mt Baldy on Apr 17, when I'll go to Socal for some family stuff. Need to get some wife credit. And I'll ride to Sierra Rd on the race day. I'll probably have to stick with Versus for the rest of the ATOC; I do like Phil and Paul :-)

I am planning on going to the Modesto finish, get my TOC gear and have a beer. Then, as they start at 11:45, I plan on starting at 8:00 near Mines/Del Valle and hoping I can get to the top of Hamilton before them (shouldn't be a problem...)

I'll be at Stages 1 & 2. I'll be camping at Fallen Leaf that weekend and I hope to ride Stage 1's route on Friday or Saturday. I plan on watching from one of the switchbacks at Emerald Bay. I think they have a KOM point there, so there should be plenty of other people around.
I saw this ride after I already had those plans. Looks cool, but I'll probably do the whole route solo instead.

My family has a cabin in Tahoe so I'm going to ride to Emerald Bay for stage 1. Ought to be a great vantage point. Beautiful scenery right there.

I live in Seaside and am volunteering for the stage that starts here (I don't know what I'm doing yet). I'm excited, it's a chance to see some of the pros and their equipment up close and personal!

A friend invited me to their house at Squaw that weekend. I think I'll take my daughter up with my Allez and her Burley and we'll do some cruising around Squaw and watch the race starts.

I'm planning on taking my son to stage 2 and sitting above the Rainbow Bridge on the climb out from Donner Lake. I figure we can park near the lake then trail-a-bike up the hill.
This might belong on mtbr instead, but I recall seeing some pics of abandoned snow tunnels/sheds that were ridable from the top of Donner Lake Rd, and a trail that eventually dropped down to the lake. Anyone know where those are?

Looking at riding on Tuesday from Woodward Reservoir (passing through DiegoMayra's Riverbank) into Modesto, a light 20 mile ride on the course and watching the finish. For Stage 4 my goal is to ride from Mines/Del Valle junction to at least the 2nd San Antonio KOM just before Mt. H. A 74 mile RT is plenty.

Watching Stage 1 in Tahoe City. Stage 2: course marshalling in Wheatland, then hopping in the car to see the finish here in Sacto. Stage 3: course marshalling in Folsom. A bunch of my teammates are then going to ride a portion of the course behind the peleton.

Going to attempt to ride from Brentwood to Livermore early Wednesday morning and check everything out. First time actually seeing it in person and not on tv. Pretty excited!
