"In Search Of" Thread?

Hey all. If this is inappropriate for me to be posting, then by all means close 'er down.

If it's not, then I'd just like some extra eyes out there. Essentially, I'm looking for a 53 or 54cm decent steel road frame with crappy finish/paint. I'd be building it into a 1xSomething commuter as I'm uncomfortable with leaving my race/train/everything else bike outside of my work place.

Extra eyes are always helpful in a search like this and if any of the NorCal members have such a frame, I'd like to work out a deal over a ride/coffee.

Additionally, if anybody else has an ISO (In Search Of), then feel free to post it up. I feel like we're such a good community that we could definitely benefit each other if given the option - so here it is.

I'm looking for a nice steel touring bike, 56cm. I've had a 54cm Miyata 1000 for a little while and my attempts to trade it for a bike that fits me have been unsucessful so far.

I'd love a Trek 720, Miyata 1000, or '80s Specialized Expedition. Have had some offers to trade for a Long Haul Trucker but Surly doesn't quite do it for me.

I was pretty tempted by your trade offer when I was selling my Trek 728! Your Miyata is one of the nicest I have seen!
Dan I don't have anything that size at the moment, but I will keep a look out for you. I do have a Miyata 914 frame only in 56x55 if that would work for you that I am not using.

Best I can do at the moment is a Trek 760 frame set.

Oh whoa, I hadn't realized people actually posted in here.

I seem to have found my own frame, but I'd love to keep this going.

Thanks! I think so too. I've had some offers to buy it from me but that doesn't help me get on the road...

I retract my earlier statement. The search is still on.
