Tour of Napa Valley vs. Holstein Hundred...which would you do?

Did the Tour of Napa Valley last year, but have never ridden Holstein. Both are on the same weekend, looking for recommendations from those who have done both. Looks like Holstein has more climbing. How would you compare route, organization, support, food, etc.?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I rode Holstein in 09, ToNV in '10. I am going back to Holstein this year - way better shirts! As for the ride, tough to say. In '09 I did the 71 mile (oops) ride, I really liked the route, VERY rural, good climb on Marshall, I didn't care for the bit we did on Highway 1, sort of a culture shock to be on small shoulder highways after all that time on quiet back roads. Food was standard. Last year I signed up for the 100 mile Napa ride but also signed up for the 100 mile Crater Lake ride the day before, so after hustling back to Napa and spending the night I was not interested in getting up in time to make the start to do the 100, so I did the 65. Pretty crowded ride, great route, loved the Lake Hennesey section, and I have ridden Mt. Veeder before, not a big fan of the steep descent on Oakville. Napa ride was really hot, but the climb up Ink Grade was shaded and not as bad as I expected (try doing Howell mtn...) The food at the end of the Napa ride was awesome plus they had BEER! It is a tough decision. I rode Napa last year because I had ridden Holstein the previous and felt like trying a different ride. I would say the Napa ride is slightly better in regards to how it is run and food, Holstein is for a good cause, has great shirts and an equally nice route. Tough call as both rides cover fairly classic routes.

The Napa Century was the first organized century I did in CA when I first I moved here. I like to do it every year now as a tradition. The first couple rest stops are always a little crowded but overall it's a great ride with beautiful scenery. Looking forward to it again this year.
