Rolled up with Mr LanceOldStrong. Great view of the finishing climb. Tales later, but here are a few photos.

I had big plans for an all day coverage; start in Livermore, Mines Road KOM, and finish at Sierra. Unfortunately I had to cancel the trip to the finish.

I arrived at the same time as the team buses in Livermore. It was amazing to see some familiar faces in flesh, these guys are really skinny! And some of them look darn young. The Leopard-Trek kit is absolutely classy.
A lot of people around the Radio-Shack bus for sure, I could only see Ben King and a spaniard after which I moved to the Leopard bus where Andy and especially Jens Voigt got a lot of applause and encouragements. Jens was very friendly, signing a lot of jerseys, caps, posters, and whatever fans were presenting. The whole team had a somber face though surely related to their teammate being put to rest earlier in Belgium.
Bonus: Radio-Shack was throwing free t-shirts, I raised my hand, one shirt landed on it.

I headed towards Mines Road when the race started and was surprised to be allowed to drive up the road just 30' before the race was scheduled to pass by. Easily found a place to park near the KOM just in time to spot our own DiabloScott and his friend Rick about to crest the hill. Thor was leading the escape a couple minutes ahead of the peloton.

FUN TIMES!!!

Had a great time at the top of Sierra - got there in time to see the awards for the KOM and then trucked up to the top to scout out a spot. Threw down my blanket right next to the VIP tent and put my feet up! Ate/drank way too much and had way too much fun

I was at the start in Livermore in the morning and headed over to Sierra Road. I was about halfway up the hill with a great group of people and amazing views. Nice that the rain held off.

I rode from Dublin out to Sierra, that was a grind. The heavy winds on the return were not appreciated. All kinds of riders going out there. Some photos...

The oasis of activity.

Nothing like a nice ~90 mile bicycle ride with a break in the middle to watch some pro racing!

I was surprised to see some of the early finishers descend down Sierra, before the whole caravan had gone through.

Some phenomenal shots here. Gotta give kudos to Curtis for that one of George H, superb. I also really like Georges P's shots of the peloton on Mines - really stunning pictures.

I'll go ahead and add my video of Stage 2 to this thread. This is the final four laps around midtown Sacramento, recorded from the corner of 18th and L Streets. The rain and wind came on suddenly right before lap number 2, so there is some shakiness from holding my umbrella with one hand and the camcorder with the other, all while standing on the frame of my trike so I could see over the heads of the taller people in front of me:
