A Chance to Show Off Your Cool Bikes

Once again, my Rotary Club is holding a car/motorcycle/bicycle show on Fathers' Day (June 19 this year). Once again, I am in charge of the bike part. And I need some cool bikes to display.

I know from experience that some of you have some tres cool stuff, and I want to be able to display it. Here's the link: https://motorama.us/indexopt1.html .

Sign up on-line or through me. The event is in Lafayette. Even if you don't want to display your steed, c'mon down and check out the event. Hey, it's free admission, and there will be a bunch of cool stuff to look at. Some pics from last year follow.

Questions? Post 'em here or PM me.

Many thanks.

Edit There is an award for Best Bike, but this is not a concours d'elegance, it is meant to show off stuff others might be intereted in. So don't be shy.

Some of the bikes at last year's event.

A 1958 Columbia paperboy model, fully restored.

Bigbossman's Eddy Merckx, with pantographed stem, chainwheels, and seat post.

More bikes from 2010 . . . .

Three from Steve Howard and Livermore Cyclery.

A 1972 or so Masi. From Milan, not Carlsbad.

An early 1960's 8-speed Varsity (yes, two chainwheels and a four-cog freewheel), complete with the Simplex "death lever" front derailleur (they really weren't that dangerous).

An Ohrt from the 1950's, featuring a British Cyclo rear derailleur, a 1930's design that was just about about to go out of production when this puppy was built. This bike was a gift to the current owner from Gus Mozart, direct descendant of that Mozart.

Scooper's unbelieveably trick 953-framed Waterford custom. You will never see another one exactly like this one.

And two from Rivendell, an Atlantis and an A. Homer Hilson behind it.

Although I am a lugged steel guy for riding purposes, I'm happy to show off carbon fiber, aluminum, titanium, bamboo, tissue paper, or pretty much anything else cool bikes are made of.

So yes, Georges, I'd love to show off your ride.

If you are interested, you may have it. I live 2 minutes from the clock tower, easy for drop off and retrieval.

Nice bikes.

So.... just out of curiosity - who won "Best of Show" last year?

This POS.

It was a sympathy vote because we scared your dog. We knew it wasn't really a serious entry because you shipped it off to the East Coast after the Show.
