Need help with referral to a good bike shop in San Francisco
My daughter lives and rides in San Francisco. Her bike needs some repairs. I would like a recommendation for a good bike shop near the University of San Francisco. Preferably the shop will have reasonable rates, helpful staff and good in assisting newbies.
She uses her bike for commuting, so a shop geared to "weekend warriors" may not be right for her.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

American Cyclery, on Stanyan just across the Haight from USF. Those guys have always treated me with tremendous respect, even when I was an ignorant beginning commuter looking for advice. The place *LOOKS* like it is geared toward top-end spandex-and-carbon-fiber-knows-every-Tour-rider-by-smell cyclists, but they're really good folks who love bicycles.

Seanholio and Philipaparker, thanks for your recommendations. I will pass the info along to my daughter. I will let you know how she liked the shop. Again, thanks.

My daughter went to American Cyclery and she was very happy with the service that she received there. The shop was everything that the two of you said it was and more!
So, once again, thank you very much for your recommendation.

Problem is, my daughters have all been raised as Princesses...marrying any of them is not for the faint of heart.
