Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I'm talking about riders who are riding next to their friends on a wideish country road. There's plenty of room for cars and bikes, but these oblivious folk ride two or three across, not only screwing up auto traffic, but making it harder for other cyclists to get around them as well. (not that I'm fast enough to pass very many folks)

We annoy car driver just by existing. I don't see the need to give them actual reasons to hate us.

Nice write up Curtis. I was sad to come across this - anyone know anything?

I didn't see any of it, or even hear about it on the ride. The "news" report calls the ride a race. So much for journalism.
I do wonder what happened.

I read this news here last night and I felt so sad, such a shame. I am still thinking about our fallen fellow cyclist this morning and my heart goes out to all who miss and mourn him today.

It was such a great day and a great ride. Very sad news about the gentleman who crashed.

Hi all -

More info regarding the crash.

https://blogs.sacbee.com/capitolalert...-accident.html

I only met Robb a couple of times, but in our brief encounters I thought he was a pretty swell guy, and a great many agree.

Oh, that's so sad. I was hoping he'd be okay.

OK - whoever owns the Foxy's Century website needs to UPDATE the description...

The 100-mile ride offers the most challenging of the three courses with over 2000 feet of climbing (and descending).
I tracked 4,400 ft of elevation - which IS technically "over 2000 feet" - but geez! That was the most I've climbed in one session, let alone the longest I've ever ridden as well...

anyone else notice this?

I got 4171 (wrong) feet of climbing over 96.11 miles through Garmin 305 and Ascent.
EDIT: Whoops. Read the wrong column. That's 3,722 feet
