Route reccomendations?
So I'm going to borrow a friend's mtb over the break, and I want to see is Mtb right for me before I get a bike for myself. Can someone recommend me some beginner trails just so I can get my feet wet? I road bike a lot, and I know where to go for that, but I have never done anything with mtb before. I live in Mountain View, and would like to keep it relatively local. <15 min drive? if possible?
Thanx!

Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto has some easy mountain bike trails.
Upper Alpine Road (between Portola Valley and Skyline) and the adjacent open space preserves are also nice.
