Sacramento
I'll be up sometime around the beginning of May to visit some family, I'll probably arrive the 3rd and depart the 8th. I noticed there is a race series Sat/Sun (Golden State Race Series) I would like to do as well as get in a few nice hilly rides. Anyone interested in showing me around or are also doing those races? Even some tips on nice routes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Depending on when in May and for how long, I may be able to show you about some. I don't race, so won't be doing that. And my long hilly rides are on Sundays. I also ride a couple of days during the week when the kids are in school.

I'll be coming up Wednesday the 2nd and leaving Tuesday the 8th most likely. So if you're available any of those days that would be sweet, both races with be over by 9am Saturday and Sunday. Not sure if you start your weekend rides that late though.

Thursday the 3rd I ride rolling from my house (in Rancho Cordova) at 9:30, with a coffee stop. I could ride on Friday too. I'm hoping that Saturday or Sunday that weekend I'll be going to Santa Cruz to pick up a new bike and will ride from there. Let me know what you want to do.

Used to live there. You'll need to drive for hills or use the ARBT to get to Folsom (30 miles from Downtown). Check out Salmon Falls Rd. out of El Dorado Hills to HWY 49 into Coloma. Climb Lotus Rd. and return to your car via Green Valley Rd. There's a Safeway or Raley's store near the corner of Salmon Falls & Green Valley where you can park.
I'm sure many here are familiar with the ride and could probably join you - it's a very popular route, as it's one of the nearest climbing opportunities near Sac.

Thanks for the input guys, I figured the hills would be more towards Auburn and Folsom. I'll drop you a PM next week JoelS, I should have a better idea of my plans then. Thanks a lot. Something like this looks right up my alley, https://app.strava.com/rides/5616574
