The perpetually parked white Honda Civic on Canada Road - whats the deal
If you ride Canada Road between HWY92 and Woodside Road in San Mateo County, you must have seen the guy who sits in his white Civic along the a very wide section of shoulder on Canada Road about 1/2 a mile from the 92/Canada interesection. He appears to be reading, but sometimes just sitting there.
I drive or ride on Canada pretty often at different times, and its amazing how often this guy is parked there. Weekend days, weekday evenings, its amazing. He's got to be spending 20+ hours a week or more parked there. Always the same spot.
Anyone know what his deal is? Is he mentally ill?

Maybe his wife is a pain in the ass, and it's either go someplace peaceful for a while or eat the gun....

I know this might sound crazy, (I'm Canadian), but can't you just stop and ask him? From your post it almost sounds like that is just not done.

Weird - I picked this one up on lawabidingcivicownersforums.net just the other day
If you drive Canada Road between HWY92 and Woodside Road in San Mateo County, you must have seen the guy who rides his bike along the a very wide section of shoulder on Canada Road. Each time, I'm sitting there getting some peace and quiet and catch up reading bible verses on my way home, and there's this dude who slows down and peers through my windows at me the whole time I'm reading. Totally weird - it's like he's stalking me or something. I've tried switching up my routine and heading out at different times but sure enough, peeping bike dude is there too. WTF? He must be spending like 20+hrs a week stalking me. I'm thinking of calling the cops. Anyone else experienced this?
Anyone know what his deal is? Is he a parolee?
bless you my child,
Pastor Jones.

He's not exhibiting normal behavior, and I have an aversion to seeking out contact with people in that situation. Certainly he's not harming any one, but I dont go around poking bears.

I don't know the whole situation, but if you approach him on a bike, I don't think he will see you as a threat. He must have a story. I haven't talked to too many homeless people myself, but when I have, they have no problem talking about themselves. Just start waving to him as you ride by, you'll be able to tell by his response if he is approachable.

There is a guy who does the same thing in GoldenGate Park he is parked in a green Jag and sits there I don't see him reading the paper or doing anything. Do you remember that British comedy "Keeping Up Apperances" where the guy was unemployed and his wife didn't know because he went to off to work everyday, until one day they repossed the funiture? Might be one of those guys.

he's not there often enough, apparently... he isn't in Google Maps or Street View.

There's a guy who drives around all the time at the park I sometimes go for walks at. I won't go for a few weeks, but when I do, I almost always see this guy driving around or parked. Drives an always-clean Lexus SUV, and will literally STARE YOU DOWN as he drives aimlessly around the park. To the point where he's creening his neck looking behind his shoulder at you. (It's not just me, from what I've observed). He'll park in one place for like 5 minutes, then drive to another parking lot, and repeat. The staring part is what creeps me out, and is the reason why I noticed him to begin with...like what's your problem, dude?
I guess some people don't have much going on in their lives, and driving around gawking at people is their only pastime.
