Parking options near OLH

I normally park at the Arastradero park-and-ride, but the last two times I went there, it was completely full. I waited awhile and eventually someone left, but in both cases, I had to shorten my ride (argh).

Any other good options out there? Something in the shade would be awesome.

Thanks,
Bob

There's a park and ride, formal or informal I don't know, on Sand Hill Rd., just west of 280. No shade, but handy to OLH.

I have seen people park on Portola road, after it makes a left (going straight it turns in to Sand Hill Rd).

I park around the shops at the intersection of Woodside Rd & Mountain Home Rd...usually some good options. Not far from OLH and shops to get food/drink afterwards.

You could park at Windy Hill OSP or in the vicinity of Portola Valley Town Hall. Both are just up the hill on Portola from the bottom of OLH.

I rode OLH/Pescadero/Tunitas today, and referred to the thread as I was looking for a place to park. The Sand Hill lot mentioned above was full (11am on a weekday). I ended up parking at the Woodside City Hall (?). Big big lot with barely any cars. I parked furthest from the building under the trees and my car was in shade when I got back ~3pm.

OLH was ~10min from the parking lot, which was a reasonable enough warmup.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I wasn't able to get out today, but I'll keep this in mind for next time!

I park at Canada Road near the 280/92 split on the North end but you can also park on the south end by Edgewood Road. Then head down to Woodside, Whiskey Hill and Sand Hill/Portola to get to OLH. No shade though...

Is it too snarky to say I park at home and take Caltrain to Palo Alto or Redwood City? One of these days not too long from now, I'll make it up OLH starting from home, but the last time I tried that, I crashed and couldn't ride a bike for 7 weeks.

I park here. But I only go here on weekends. You may have more problems if you try to park here on a weekday.

Bah, can't figure out how to attach a .kmz file...just copy paste into google earth.

It gives you a very short warm up, but through some very nice areas. Then when you're done, get a yummy sandwich at Robert's
