Tour de Fuzz - anyone riding?

My wife and I thought we would give the easy 100K a shot on our tandem. Past reports on this ride seem generally to have been favorable. Until we solve my wife's problem with the interface between her seat and her saddle we've got to be selective about our rides.

Yes, I'm doing the 100k on my folding bike -- have never ridden around there, should be fun though the 5AM drive from the south bay might be a little grim

Just arrived home after the event -- never rode around there & it's as pretty as it's been depicted: https://www.rapha.cc/santa-rosa-with-andy-hampsten

Lost my way a few times, and quite a few people kept saying to me (unprompted) that the same happened to them. For some reason a lot of the corners in the earlier part of the route seemed to by marked after the turn, to say "yes this is the right way" -- but if you'd gone the wrong way.... nothing until you wondered why you (and others) were miles from where you expected... heh. But a gorgeous ride anyway, pretty happy.

My wife and I had done the Wine Country 100K a few years ago - somewhat similar route but CW instead of CCW. The volunteers did an outstanding job, the rest stops were very good for a small ride and the post-ride meal I thought was very good. No need to say more about the beauty of the area.

The 100K has about 2500' of climbing including rollers, and when you ride a tandem even the rollers count. I would rate the 100K as easy on a single especially if the temps are reasonable (they were).

What my wife and I appreciate is that there were enough riders on course so you didn't feel like you were out there by yourself. Not that there is anything wrong with exploring the region solo, but we do enjoy saying "hi" when passing or being passed.

We wound up averaging 15.7 mph, good for us considering we're 135 y/o; the rollers require a lot of captain grunt work so I got a bit crampy at the end.
