Of course. D'oh! count us in.

Of course, given our Irish/Scots/Welsh/French heritage, there might be Guiness and/or wine and/Scotch involved.

What do Danes drink, anyway?

1. Alcohol is prohibited inside MDSP, I advise discretion.
2. Danes drink pretty much anything, but Tuborg was a very popular beer when I was in København... I haven't seen it in local beererias. BTW, the Danish word for beer is øl, which sounds like "pole" without the "p" and is where we get the English word "ale".

Can't we act like Europeans who actually drink good beer. I'd rather be a drunk crazy Belgian... Not that there is a shortage.

Well, being the hyper-technical dooshnozzle lawyer that I am, at least professionally, I will point out that I said we should party like we were crazy drunken Danes on Alpe d"Huez, meaning we should act like them. I did not, hyper-technically speaking, advocate the actual possession of consumption of alcoholic beverages in MDSP, which, as you correctly point out, would put one on Santa's "Naughty" list.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Should we act like we're Flemish or Walloon? I would not suggest trying to act like both unless we plan to spend the entire time refusing to speak to each other and not having a federal government for the better part of two years (with pretty much nobody noticing, I might add).

Followed by a happy little romp up the Tracy side of Patterson Pass and the Mother of all False Summits. Ouch!!! to quote a phrase.

BTW, it's called the Dutch Corner on Alpe d'Huez. Us Norwegians should know.

I rode Morgan Territory yesterday. The pros will be descending it the direction I usually climb. CRAP. It's a narrow bumpy road and they will be FLYING. I wonder if there are any plans to patch it up bit for them. It looks like a good way to get hurt. Yes, they ARE pros, but still.

Here's Misland's photo of my fat butt going up where they'll be coming down at at least a zillion KPH. It isn't very wide, and funnels into teh bridge.

At least though they won't have to deal with teh big silver pickup that owned the road even though we were there too.

I don't know if this comment was serious, but I talked to Ranger Dan (new ranger on the mountain, super nice) and he informed me that they are not going to allow any camping. Now I don't know if this includes the dedicated camping sites, but he emphasized "ANY". And of course this will prohibit any kind of roadside RV/car camping.

Frankly, I'm not opposed, it IS a state park after all, and I'm already dreading what garbage thousands of spectators will be leaving all over the mountain that day...

We have camping reservations at Live Oak for the Friday and Saturday. Got a voicemail confirmation from Reserve America a couple of weeks ago stating that our reservation was still good. Unfortunately for some friends that reserved at Juniper, their reservations were cancelled. I think they'll probably be using those areas for staging.
