Bike Forums Group Ride: Morgan T & Diablo 12/29. Let's Get the Band Back Together!
lhbernhardt, a Bike Forums member and accomplished long distance cyclist is coming down from Vancouver, BC
He is bringing his wife, also a serious cyclist, and he asked for some ride ideas on another thread.
He is my kind of guy. I proposed Diablo and he came back with "Thank You Sir, May I Have Another? !"
He requested I add in Morgan Territory for 70 miles and 7000 feet so he gets in two climbs he has never done.
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/3744236
9AM on Sunday 12/29
Meet at Concord High School: 4200 Concord Blvd, Concord, CA 94521 (tons of parking)
Rain Cancels
No Drops, we will have regroups at key points.
We can grab a quick lunch in San Ramon, after Morgan T and to refuel before Diablo.
I will bring route slips for all.

I talked to the redhead and it sounds like we're up for it ! We've never ridden Morgan Territory.

There's a high probability that I'll be able to make it over from Sactown!

I will do everyone a favor and not come along. Having me on a "no drop" ride on rides with that much climbing means the rest of you will be cooling your jets far, far longer than you would like.
I'll be there in spirit, though.

I am out of state this day. I am so annoyed I almost want to cancel my trip so I don't miss this.
Our band was so good. All stars even.

I'm a weather weenie. If it is decent, I'd like to try it. Had the pleasure of riding Morgan Territory during the Victory Velo Ride, and really enjoyed it, and it would be great to meet other forum members.

Got a PM from Lanceoldstrong inviting me to this ride, so I'm in. I will be bringing my regular riding partner Matthew. He is very familiar with this route. I did it once earlier this year. When Matthew first found out I did this route, he called it "Devil Mountain Double" because it's part of the DMD and he is a diehard doubles rider. He keeps trying to get me to do a double. Nope. I have no problem riding 100 miles (did it once this year on my singlespeed while accompanying the "25 Hours on the ARBT" riders), but a double doesn't interest me.
It will be nice to finally meet the OP, Spingineer, and anyone else I've talked to on here
