Bike MS: Waves to Wine Ride

An event from National Multiple Sclerosis Society:

Bike MS: Waves to Wine Ride

Sept 20-21, 2014 Two day bike event

Welcome to Bike MS: Waves to Wine Ride- we hope you'll join us on September 20-21, 2014 for the most picturesque, albeit challenging, Bike MS Ride in the country! This is a full-supported 2-day bike event, so all you have to worry about is riding from the start to the finish each day we'll take care of the rest!

Day 1: Starting in SF, heading over the Golden Gate Bridge, out HWY 1 to Stinson Beach then heading to Rohnert Park for the overnight - approx. 75 miles. There will also be a 100 mile option that day for those real go-getters in the bunch. Likewise, there will also be a shorter option for Day 1 starting and finishing from Rohnert Park, CA. This day will be very hilly and challenging, but also very gratifying!

Day 2: Heading from Rohnert Park and into wine country, winding through some great rural areas and wineries in 75 miles. This day is a much flatter day than Day 1. We also have a 50 mile option.

There will be rest stops approximately every 12 miles along with a lunch stop and post-ride dinner both days, so you will have plenty of liquids and food to keep you going all day long. There will also be other special surprises along the course to keep you going through some of those especially challenging parts of the route.

The overnight is quite a festival of great food, great music, and wine and beer from our generous sponsors. It'll be a chance for you to share recaps of your day out on the course and to just hang out with your fellow riders. Then off to bed to rest up for the follow day's ride.

Just seems like an informational announcement to me. It is, after all, bike related.

I've done this ride twice and really enjoyed it, but I'm tired of asking folks for money, so I'll skip it this year.

Here's a couple of photos from 07 in my blog.

I also made an audio report that was used on the Fredcast. There's a link at the bottom of the blog post to it.

here's a couple of images and a story from 08

The proper way to announce is to get a legitimate member to do it. But If it weren't for SPAM there'd be hardly any posts in here at all.

It's a spam because account was created specifically for the purpose of posting and advertising this event. Not only that, but I don't think they sponsor BF, yet use it's resources to advertise their ride.

By the way how much of the money raised actually ends up in research vs spent on supporting this event, in the pockets of various execs and spent on "awareness" campaigns. Similar to where most money ends up from various cancer charities, and fund raisers.
