Mount Diablo Summit Time Trial

Not sure why I hadn't seen this before - sort of like the Diablo Challenge, but up North Gate.
They're calling it a time trial but they're sending the riders off in waves according to category.
No racing license required.

Too bad it's on Mother's Day... no way I'll get a hall pass.

Yeah, that is weird, Mother's Day. I have 2 commitments that day, no way I can get out for this. Also, $85, a bit steep! For a free shirt nah, but maybe if it was a free JERSEY it would be worth it. The staging seems weird too...looks like they are just sending blobs of riders at a time. This isn't like the NGJx TT with the ramp and individual start times. I know it's just mostly for fun, but I think it would be better if they grouped riders by category. I'm a "masters" (read, old...) now, but I'm almost as fast now as I was 10 years ago, I'd probably place higher in my category than with the youngsters.

Anyway, I'd love to hear from anyone who takes part in this, see how it goes. I'll check back on the results, and cry over how good some local riders are!
