Recommendations on good bike mechanic for complete build - Sacramento
Hi All,
I'm looking for recommendations for a good mechanic who can work with Campy components and a steel frameset in the greater Sacramento Area. I've got the parts and am just looking for someone who can assemble and adjust the bike for me. I'm looking for a good list of contacts.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Contact Mark Stemmy at: Home - Optimitized Cycling Solutions - 530-363-2697 Located a little way up 50 in Cameron Park.
He's got a small boutique shop. Heck of a good mechanic. Campy pro shop. Any work I have done (when I don't have the tools of know-how to do it myself) goes to Mark.

Doug over at Rex Cycles in midtown did an outstanding job on my Record EPS build. Of course it was on one of Steve's custom frames, but it was a steel frame.

IKON Bikes at 23rd and J St may be one to check out. I don't have a name of a person, but I think they do good complete build work.
Also possibly John at the Edible Pedal downtown may be someone to talk to.
Steve Rex's shop I think is very good.

I'll second the recommendation for Doug, the wrench over at Steve Rex's shop.

Agreed. I don't know Doug personally but I feel that he's the real deal. He recently trued and tensioned my commuter wheelset. They came out great and the cost was very fair. I pretty much judge the quality of a shop on this specific service and most fail. I've also had a steel frame frame straightened and re-spaced there. However, I think Steve did it. Regardless, the shop strikes me as having a very high standard. I would check it out if I were you. I won't go anywhere else for serious work.
