You'd think you'd be safe on the GGB in the bike lane.

Sort of reminds me of one of those pictures of a shark getting trapped in a gill net.

I heard about this on the radio. I believe the letters D-U-I feature prominently in this story. I'm just glad I wasn't there at the time.

i think the full story was in the Chronicle today. drunk driver... arrested on scene, briefly hospitalized, then charged with DUI. probably piled on a few other things too. apparently he/she went through the parking lot to get to the bike path.

Says he went through the rail and over the concrete. I'd blame it on the GPS...

Nice new-ish Mustang, shame to see a car so flagrantly abused like that.

i read an article in the paper the other day stating that sales were brisk. i personally think it's a bit too wide, but that's just me.

No, I think the driver in the OP would tend to agree with you.

The deer felt very strongly about slamming that stem.

Good to hear that.

Best of luck to both the cyclist and the deer.
Looks like the video has been published by numerous websites and news organizations all over the world. At least the cyclist should be able to buy a new bike. Not sure the deer will get a new set of antlers though...

I've seen that video a few times now, cringing each time I see it. That wounded sounding moan at the end - is that the cyclist or the deer?!?

Definitely the cyclist. Ouch. I'm trying to figure out how the stem detached completely from the fork, I guess the steerer must have shattered. Again ouch.

I've seen deer like that on Diablo, and always slow WAY down...not that he had any chance of seeing that deer...
