Riding around Rancho Cordovo

Hi.

I'll be there tomorrow morning, and was thinking of getting couple of hours in. I need a safe place to park my car with a small trailer for the start of the ride. Can anyone recommend a route, or want to go riding? I was thinking around 8-8:30 am.

Thanks

Depends on what you're looking for. For a relatively sedate ride, park at the Bel Air market in Gold River (off Sunrise Boulevard). From there, it's a short ride to the American River Bike Trail. Head East up towards Beals Point to get moderate climbing in (you'll need to leave the bike trail in Folsom to get some real climbing in), or west towards downtown for a more level ride.

Wish I checked this yesterday. I'm right nearby. Can't get out today though. MTB tomorrow. Hope you found a good route.

Here's about a 2 1/2 hour ride depending on where you are starting.
Take the bike trail up to the Fish Hatchery, go under the bridge and past the Aquatic Center. Another mile or so, after crossing a wooden bridge, look for a right hand turn off. That will take you to Iron Point Rd. Straight across at the light, up Iron Point for 4 or 5 mi and up the hill. Left at the stop sign (Empire Ranch). Take it Green Valley (at the T, light), and turn LEFT. Turn RIGHT at East Natoma. About a mile down, on the right, you'll start to see the bike trail again. Take that back, make sure to route under the bridge instead of back up the hill. If in doubt, ask another rider. There should be plenty!

Nimbus is always a safe bet. I live in Rancho, and I hit the Folsom Canal Trail down to the American River Trail. Then you can cruise up to Folsom or around Lake Natoma. Or you can head the other way down towards Sac.
