Any Party Pardee veterans?

Howdy all. Been off the bike for awhile. Basically I got lazy after the holidays in 2013 and haven't been in the saddle since. But I'm determined to lose some wait and get back into semi-shape. Now that I'm in my mid-50's, I do better if I have a goal. So I'm looking at shooting for the 50k Party Pardee in April. I hate hills and avoid them like the plague if possible.

So I'm looking for input from anyone who's participated in this ride. I've heard some good things about this event but there's nothing like first-hand experience. Another option is the Sierra Century 50k. More hills but later in the year so more time to get in shape.

Words of wisdom?

It always has been a well supported event and it looks like it is already sold out. However, there is climbing - mostly rollers. Here are a couple of links to the 100k
Party Pardee 100K - Ione, CA
Party Pardee 2010 Metric Century - Ione, CA
Check out the profiles. There is a difference in climbing, and I don't know which one is right.

If you want a really flat one, maybe this ride is the ticket.

Start riding and go for it. Do it unsupported just for a training ride if there are no "day of" options to sign up.
Cheers

Fun, and easy. My wife is bummed we missed signing up this year.
Here are two BRILLIANT blog entries I did on our Pardee rides.

Great blog Curtis. Thanks for the link. I will have to put this one on my list for next year. I'm think I'll plan on heading up to Chico in April for one of the Wildflower rides, probably the Flatflower 30.
