Suggestions For Best Riding in San Juan Islands
Hey, all.
I've got a day off tomorrow, and I'd like to check out some of the riding up in the San Juan Islands. I live in the South Sound area, so getting there is easy enough. I've only got a day though, so I was wondering if you had suggestions as to the best island for exploring on a bike.
I'll probably park in Anacortes, and I'll be riding a GT Grade with 28mm all weather tires. So, you know, road routes but it doesn't have to be pristine asphalt, and some dirt roads are OK too. I use a Cyclops Joule GPS thingy, so you're welcome to send me a ride if you've got a really good route recorded or something.
I figure I'll just have my bike stuff and a little money for exploring. But I wasn't intending to pack a lunch or anything. I ride with SPD pedals and MTB type shoes though, so a little walking is OK.
I was planing to hit Orcas island first. Just taking a guess as to which island and where to go though.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Wow, lots of info.
OP has presumably already ridden. However, I'll have a three days or so in mid July in the area. Any suggestions?
1) which islands to see
2) campground policies? hiker-biker?
3) Any idea where I can park my car in Anacortes for a few days?
Cheers,
pete
