Pioneer Century Classic
PIONEER CENTURY - 2017 Edition - The Best Bicycle Ride the Law Allows!
It’s Portland Wheelmen Touring Club’s 43rd annual Pioneer Century on June 3. We want to extend a personal and sincere invitation to you, our fellow cyclists, to come out and ride with us.
We have multiple routes which offer you the challenge (or lack thereof) that you seek. If you just want a little spin through Mt. Hood Territory, try the Elliott Prairie or the Valley Metric.
Looking for some challenge? Training for something? Just need to work off some steam? Let me introduce you to the Sawtell Pass Metric or our Heritage Plus (only 4 miles longer than the basic Heritage but what a very special 4 miles they are!).
Once again, we have our friends from Catering Rides Northwest to create their delicious burritos on site. You must order before ride day so include that option as you register. You’ll be glad you did when you finish your ride and hang out at the Fairgrounds for a bit with your riding buddies.
We’ll have some vendors at the Fairgrounds to add interest and the always popular St. Josef’s Winery & Beer Garden will definitely add to your post ride enjoyment.
We’ll try to get that thermostat turned down after last year’s anomaly! And we’ll be proclaiming Pioneer Century a BAGEL FREE ride again this year. Don’t worry, plenty of carbs, just not in the form of bagels.
Again, I’m asking you to join us at Pioneer Century because it’s summer, we have cycling in common, it’s a great ride and I want you to be there.
Go to PWTC.com and get details. You’ll register through EventBrite. Check out the lunch and our commemorative jersey.
Looking forward to seeing you on June 3.
