Sunday Feb 12, 2012 Portland OR Worst Day of the Year Ride
PORTLAND’S FAVORITE WACKY WINTER RIDE: the Worst Day of the Year Ride, presented by Good Sport Promotion
• Benefiting the Community Cycling Center
• Gigantic costume contest presented by Showers Pass
• Easy, short, flat route of 18 miles
• Hill Climb challenge route of 40 miles, about 3000 feet of elevation gain
• 3 rest stops with belly-warming treats (4 stops on the Hill Climb route)
• Huge finish line scratch-made hot soup and fresh-from-the-oven bread (included)
• Starts and finishes at the Lucky Labrador Brew Pub (for a beer, perhaps)
The ride is capped at 4000 participants, and most years it sells out. There are plenty of opening for volunteers still available as well if you don't feel like riding in winter weather. Of course, if you're a Portland area rider you ride in rain anyway, so come on out!

I've volunteered for the WDOTY Ride every year I've could, and it's well work it!

Yay! I just wish it would live up to its billing. Every year I've ridden, it's been pleasant. I want to see some weather- you know-
Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...
The dead rising from the grave!
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!

RIDE TO THE END OF THE EARTH...
Fire on the Mountain ,
1708 E Burnside St, Portland, OR 97214
Meet up at 12:00pm
Departing at 12:12:21 on December 21, 2012
For those of us who don't have anything better to do on the last day of the world, we'll have a Blast riding our bikes.

A fun ride from Portland to Vancouver over the I5 bridge, then back to Portland over the I205 bridge, out to Gresham on the Springwater Corridor Trail, then back to Downtown PDX.
(This is presuming of course that I'm not in China or Taiwan as a student or teacher in which case the venue will change considerably)
