For those that need some cooler temps and a little car free climbing, there is ( Ride The Hurricane ) this weekend ( Sunday ) in Port Angeles.

Did it for a second time, great ride and support. Heard they had over 500 registered as of Saturday.

Combine with the Tour de Lavender on Saturday and it made for a great weekend of riding.

Also did the event for the 2nd time on Saturday. It is so fabulous to ride car-free--this is becoming one of my favorite events.

Was tired after RAMROD, but figure the two events in quick succession should make a good training block!

It was a great ride. No PR's on the way up - but down WOW! Pavement is smooth and generally great quality from top to fee station for a fairly safe high speed decent. I topped out at 47.0 mph - what a rush. From fee station down not so good, chip seal rough enough to tear meat. Good brakes required. Highly recommend "Ride The Hurricane."
