South Seattle commute downtown?

I'm looking at a house in the Rainier Beach neighborhood. Google Maps' bike route is no good, doesn't seem safe to ride day in and day out (the route includes a bunch of Lake WA Blvd, which seems too narrow and congested). I realize that Google isn't a great way to figure such things out, so is there a decent route from the south to downtown that has bike lanes, trails, etc.? I would be starting my commute near Roxbury and Rainier Ave.

Thanks for any info.

Chief Sealth Trail isn't too far from there and gets you most of the way to downtown. Then you're on your own. That (along with Lake Wash Blvd heading south) is part of my favorite loop in Seattle.

Thanks for the info. A friend turned me on to a map of Seattle bike routes, and I see now that the Sealth trail is close.
