Hello. I retired to the North Olympic Peninsula in 2008. I am becoming increasingly active in biking and just bought my first road bike. I plan to ride the 2011 STP and am dedicating 2010 to losing weight and biking 100+ miles per week.

J.D.

I live in Downtown Seattle and bike to work in Ballard 4 days a week. Only about 8 miles round trip, but I ride all over town too.

Here's my latest project https://picasaweb.google.com/11700322...eat=directlink

Howdy,

I've been on BF for about a year and ride when my bum hip/knee lets me. I live on Whidbey Island. My interests are C&V road bikes and I do my own drillium as a fun and profitable hobby.

Howdy,

I live in Seattle near Leschi and get to ride along Lake Washington all the time but I have nobody to ride with. If you want someone to ride with I usually cruise along at 18-20.

Started riding again a couple months ago and did the STP last week on my 1991 Tommasini. Have a late-70's Windsor Profesional that I use to commute around town.

Hey, I'm new here, just got my bike about a week ago, my parents have been cyclists my whole life and am finally taking an interest in it along with my friends, I've ridden a little over 100mi already and my parents are taking me along with them on their rides to show me some paths and rides we can take, so it's been a lot of fun so far.

Hope to spend some time here and learn more about local rides and stuff, hopefully save some money on a roof rack for my car haha.

That sounds great! Have fun spending time with your family biking!!

I recently bought my first road bike and have been biking as much as I can. When I turned 31 10 months ago I decided to lose 30 lbs and now I have anew lease on life. I am hoping to get a better bike in the next 2 weeks and start riding any events I can find.

I greet you all through the drizzle today (again) from here on Whidbey Island.
Ran a bike shop in Oak Harbor years ago, got out of biking and back in about 4 years ago.
Went from mostly road to mostly off road.
Ride an old school Trek 930 Single Track which I am crazy about.
Usually ride the trails that are all over the island and sometimes old logging roads on the mainland.
A photo of my humble ride and favorite trails here on Whidbey.

I've been riding for close to 40 years, stopped racing a couple of years ago. Now I mostly ride the Rodriguez fixie or drive the tandem. I had the Rod built last October (2009) with couplers and so far have flown with it to Hamilton, ON and to Los Angeles. I ride to work every day and usually take the long way home. My two great passions in life are cycling and opera. I plan to travel to the world's great opera houses and do a lot of riding in each vicinity.

Wahiawa, HI on the island of Oahu! Riding to train for a triathlon, scared that I'm going to continue to enjoy the bike and be forced to spend many much monies on one. when I have to give back my borrowed ride.

I'm in SW Portland/Lake Oswego (technically LO but I'm a block from the border and still in mult. county). I've known how to bike since I was a kid but am just now (at 23) wanting to get more into it - my goal is to commute to school daily and maybe ride on Sundays as well. I've been riding a few times a week for a couple of weeks but am getting a tad discouraged by all of the hills in my neighborhood none the less I will prevail!

Figured it's probably time for a re-intro - from Ellensburg WA and into classic & vintage steel road bikes (mostly 70's & 80's) and my fun Klein mountain bike.

Just to check in locally, I am in Dallas, OR...mostly rural road riding and occasional commutes to Salem depending on work rotations...also hoping to give cross racing a try this season, looks like it could be fun.

I'm new to the boards as well.
I hope to find people to ride with when I can find time to get away.

From Buckley WA.
I have been commuting for the last 7 months and loving it usually 33 miles a day(when I ride).

I'm not new to this board. But I just noticed this thread

I'm in beautiful Bend, Oregon.

Mountain biking is my true love ... but when it's fall, winter, and early spring, I like to road bike (I have a Jamis Coda that's been modified to a more road-like beast).

I only do about 60-70 road miles a week (in addition to some commuting), but it keeps me in shape for summer mountain biking.
