Thanks - this looks like a really cool place. Do people ever hook up here for rides?

We met once for a ride starting in snohomish. I'd setup another ride but I'm too busy for the next few weekends. Maybe after that, I'll set one up.

Kulshan is where I was convinced to buy the bike, after a couple test rides. I got it used over ebay, it came with clipless pedals and a low-end computer, so I figured it would save me convincing my wife I needed those things if it all came in one package!
I did get my cleats and lock from Kulshan though, great store. I remember when I was little sitting in the store bored while my dad looked at mountain bike stuff.

A 2006 Trek 1500. I absolutely love it! The other reason I went with the online purchase is that I am 6'6", and both Kulshan and the manufacturers were out of stock for my size for the year. I didn't really want to wait for the '08 to come out. The 63cm frame is huge! I was going to post a picture with my first post, but I couldn't get it to work.

That is a huge frame! Mr. East Hill is 6'2", and I thought his bike was huge, but I think his is a 57cm Trek 4300, so smaller compared to yours. That makes sense for you to purchase online with your height, and being sold out. I think the LBS would understand...I know I would not want to wait that long.

Hello,
Just wanted to alert Bike Forums readers about a new project in Southeast Alaska. Sitka, Alaska, a community of 8,500 to 8,800 people on Baranof Island in rainy Southeast Alaska, is trying to get an application together for a Bicycle Friendly Community designation from the League of American Bicyclists. If our application is successful, we'll be the first Alaska community and the nation's smallest town to earn the designation. If you've ever bicycled in Sitka (maybe on tour) or if you have any expertise you can lend as we work on this application, please visit our forum and spread your knowledge. Our main contacts for this project are Matthew Turner of Sitka Advancing Our Community and SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) Health Educator Doug Osborne. If you have expertise in the Bicycle Friendly Community application process, send me a message and I can put you in contact with them.
