Love those Studs!
And I was starting to think those studded tires were a waste of money. It was an absolute blast zipping past the stuck cars that were trying to get up the hills. We might not see alot of snow here in Tacoma but I think those tires were $ well spent. Anybody else commuting around Puget Sound this morning?

YIPPEEEEE More snow!
Another great ride in this morning! My skinny tires are not that great in the snow but it is still tons of fun! I took one little spill but got up laughing!

Woot! how about those roads, people???
it was greasy, icy stuff around Seattle today! WOW.
- still got a couple of rides in today, one morning ride up and down Capitol Hill, where there were sheets of wet ice across all the roads, trucks jacknifing in the streets, fender benders all over town, and this afternoon, the roads in Seattle downtown were wet but no ice, merely slop.
I haven't put on studded tires, but am running some agressive 700x37 knobbies on my commuting road bike (lots of clearance!).

I did manage to go down once today, putting that wet snow over the ice was a really bad combo. Studs didn't work well when they don't even touch the ice :S I might have to ride the sidecar rig tomorrow if the slush I was riding in on the way home freezes, it would push me way too far out into traffic to make it a fun commute.

I've been going non-stop (1.5" tires non-knobbies). Two flats, but no wipeouts yet. If I'd ordered knobbies after the 1st week of Dec, I'd totally be zipping all over the place right now. Hopefully it's passing, we can give New England's winter back to them.
