Portland to Keizer?

I'm thinking of combining my two favorite things this summer, and riding my bike to see a baseball game. Since I live a 10 minute walk from PGE Park, riding to a Beavers game is...kinda pointless. I've never been to the ballpark where the Volcanoes play in Keizer, and that seems like a good distance to ride and a good place to end up, on a game day anyway.

Does anybody know a good route from NW Portland to Keizer? I've seen some good routes from Portland to Salem, but most of those routes stay west of the Willamette and the stadium in Keizer is right next to I-5.

Probably the easiest (besides riding down I5) is heading out 99 to Newberg and heading to the Salem area from there. I've gone from Clackamas into Oregon City and down 99E into the Salem area and it's not a bad ride, but I don't remember the distance. There is some nice rolling hills down there.

+1. OR-219 out of Newberg through St. Paul, then French Prairie or River Road (they merge a little further south). It's real flat on that side, but a nice ride. You'll then want to jog a mile or so east on Quinaby to 35th just north of Keizer (you'll be west of I-5, but east of the Willamette).
