Soos Creek Trail

I haven't hit the Soos Creek Trail for a couple of months now, but I went out this morning and was pleased (and surprised) that the trail extension to SE 192nd Street is now open! Did I miss this on the forums somewhere? How long has it been open? It's a much needed extension with a nice - actually nasty - little hill in the middle. Lots of folks walking and riding it this morning. Cool!!!

Did you see me?

I was riding this little number. I was out there around 9.00 to 10.00 or a bit afterwards.

I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but it's been open since the beginning of September sometime. That hill in the middle is a cracker! Now we can wait impatiently for them to get around to putting through the extension past Meeker Middle School getting it closer to the Cedar River Trail.

Sorry I didn't see you, East Hill. I missed you by about an hour. I may bump into you sometime this week - I'm on vacation so I can ride in the a.m.

I probably will be riding a different bike! What are you riding?

I ride either a silver/black Gary Fisher Utopia or a celeste Bianchi road bike. Don't think I'll make it out tomorrow but probably be there on Wednesday am.

I'm there anywhere between 8.00 and 10.00 (depending on how long I manage to doze off :p ), so I'll keep an eye out.

That's cool to know. I usually start on that trail just by Lake Merdian Park. I've got tomorrow off work, so I *might* be able to sneak in a ride early in the day.

My good weather bike is a green and tan LeMond with black Deep V wheels.

Cool! I'll be looking for you in the future then. I normally start at the 208th parking lot, although I'm thinking I should expand the ride by starting at Meeker in the future.

I'll hope to see both of you Wednesday!

I have a good friend who lives right at the trailhead. I've done some walking on the trail, but am waiting for him to get his bike up and running decently, then we'll ride it.

Which end does he live at? What time are you out there walking, and which end? It's a fun ride, gives you more of a workout than you would think :p .

I think we need to have a Big Soos Creek meet and greet ride with the rest of ya! This is on the new extension, for those at home.

My God! He's gorgeous! :-) It was nice to meet you today, East Hill. I agree a meet and greet ride with some other south King County folks would be fun. Smurf Hunter, were you out today? If so, sorry we missed you.

I did figure out today that it takes about 60 pedal strokes to make it up that hill on the new extension. Good workout.

I was not out :(

I was landscaping my backyard all Wednesday. I managed to get some exercise and was outside, so it wasn't a horrible way to spend a day.

He lives at the South end of the trail, near Covington.

Let me know when you guys start riding! Perhaps we can get up a mini Bike Forums ride :) , along with slotibartifast and smurf hunter. Maybe drag some of those Eastsiders in, like KingTermite?
