Any Good Sports Podiatrists in Seattle?

No, this is not another joke about the bike thief. I realize that the guy, with his experience in cycling would be the go to guy, but I suppose it's too late now.

Anyway, I've got some foot isses and have been procrastinating for about a year on finding a local podiatrist to sort me out. I'm at the point where I guess I have to take care of my issues if I want to continue to bike comfortably and am finally looking for a good sports podiatrist that may have some experience with cyclists.

Weird request, I know. Thanks in advance.

Low arch, overpronation, and a new undiagnosed chronic pain in the right foot that's been there for about 2 weeks. As far as my cycling shoes, the fit is spot on, but I might be looking at getting some custom footbeds.

THIS is the guy!
https://www.bikept.com/

Eric Moen - PT (Kenmore area)

He's definitely a SPORTS therapist....he has photos of TONS of professional athletes that he's helped all over his walls (including many pro cyclists). I went there for a PRO bike fit (all on insurance's dime).

Here you go. Dr Maurer specializes in distance running (does research for Brooks) but is also very bike savvy. He knows effects of the different pedal types, etc, etc. He's been very helpful for me. Located in Kirkland.

Eric Moen did a fine job for me with both a bike fitting and making orthotics. He is very personable and knows the local bike scene. However, I think he is more of a standard PT and bike fitter, than a podiatrist. A great podiatrist is Brent Wendle at Puget Sound Foot and Ankle, located right be Seattle U. Good luck.

I went to Dr Maurer, really nice guy, had him make me 4 sets of Orthotics. Unfortunately I started to develop knee and lower leg pain that I struggled with for months, trying various fit adjustments (spent a lot of money) to alleviate the problem. I finally ended up at Eric's only to discover my orthotics were the problem. Even though Dr Maurer made them specifically for my bike shoes they were locking my foot in place and stressing my knee (ok, that's not the clinical description, but hopefully you get my point).

Anyway, Eric made me a new set of footbeds and I'm back to riding centuries pain free. I still like the orthotics Dr Maurer made for my running shoes and highly recommend him for that, but if you need something related to biking go see Eric.
